The Virtual Ministry Lifestyle | Today Is A Great Day!
Dear Friends,
In Christ, everyone is free. As each believer realizes his or her freedom, they become compelled by love to seek God in Christ to ask Him what is the best way to live their new life?
John 8:31 - Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 - They answered him, we be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, ye shall be made free? 34 - Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 - And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 - If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
So now that we have gained our liberty in Christ, what do we do? How do we “reorder” our lives to reflect the new intuition God gives us?
The first thing we must do is take out our personal “trash”. When true Christian conversion happens, we feel driven to change certain things in our lives.
For me, I had this “killer” music collection that I felt I just “had to get rid of” when Jesus saved me. My intuition was very strong about this. This may not sound like much to you but I struggled with doing this. Much of the music I had was “one-of-a-kind” and my friends thought I had gone mad as I smashed and threw out every one of those albums. Once I was done, I felt free! I felt that there was nothing I wouldn’t do if God would ask me. I realized that I had smashed my idols! I was free of them. So that was the start of me taking out my own personal “trash”. Even today, I find myself being compelled to “add to my life by subtracting things out”!
It may be different with you. Perhaps there is a habit you feel compelled to give up or a situation that needs to be resolved. Sometimes there are problems in relationships that need to be addressed. Only you and God know what you need to do to clean things up in your own life. Rest assured, the intuition will be there . . . you will know what to do.
The number one thing you can do is identify and work on developing “good habits”. A person is the sum totals of the things that he or she habitually does. This means if you are full of good habits, you will experience (in general) good things. So identify good habits of thought, speech and doing and practice those while throwing the other stuff out!
Here are some tips that may help you to get started:
- Develop and implement daily bible study – cultivate salvation and practice spiritual balance.
- Develop and implement a daily and consistent prayer life – cultivate spiritual life
- Develop and implement good dietary habits – take care of your body & mind
- Develop and implement plans to develop talents and skills – be ready to be useful
- Develop and implement plans to discover and enjoy the world’s natural beauty – appreciate what God has made.
- Develop and implement techniques to improve personal relationships – it is through others that the victories and challenges of life come
- Understand and develop plans to be a good steward over your resources – always know what you’ve got and how to use it.
- Never stop learning! Maintain good intellectual and mental health. – God gave you a brain and gave it the capacity to help you know, understand and make choices – learn to think things through before you act!
- Never go to bed angry! You won’t sleep well and you will have less energy for the next day’s tasks.
- Remember that Jesus is Lord! Above everything else, remember that no one is above the Lordship of Jesus in your life . . . not the pope, the bishop, the pastor, your relatives, your spouse, me or even you . . .
May you find these tips useful as you push toward the mark of your high calling in Christ. May God grant you favor to enjoy a purpose driven life.
In Service To Jesus,
Brother Ed
